I've been working with the Electric Blue Jack Dempsey for seevral years now.  A friend and I were breeding BG's to BG's, but you can only get 25% EBJD's from that cross.  I was able to get an adult male EBJD, and started working on introducing that male with the BG female I had.  After a few false starts, they did start breeding.  From this cross you should get 50% EBJD's, and all the normal appearing JD's are BG's which do have some value.  I hadn't worked very hard on getting them to spawn since November, but started feeding them heavily last week.  Today I noticed they had spawned, and pulled the eggs to artificially hatch them.  There must have been 1000 to 1200 eggs on the pot.  Now to get them hatched and free swimming.  I should know in a week.  Denny
